Seaweed, Cucumber, Oatmeal, and Yoghurt Brightening Detox Mask

I came up with this mask as I had run out of my usual fancy stuff and as usual, it was pouring down with typical english rain. No way was I going out there. My skin was looking  a little dull and lifeless from months of winter, indoor heating, and no sunshine. I wanted a pick-me-up, and something I could find in my kitchen cabinets without a lot of hassle and time spent. Seaweed and Cucumber masks are always used in the Korean spas when you get your “wash down” scrub and it has left my skin always feeling amazing; soft, glowing, and bright. I took these elements and added them to some calming (oatmeal and avocado) and detoxifying ingredients (mud and yoghurt enzymes) and was quite pleased with the results. I used the mask over a period of a week and my skin looked and felt really great, as if I had a really pricey facial at Space NK. It also takes seconds to make…

(Makes 10 masks, but use within two weeks)

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons of dried seaweed (wakame works well)

1/3 cucumber cut into chunks

4 tablespoons dead sea mud (or any mud, by any brand, at your local beauty shop…this works well for binding the ingredients together)

1/3 cup oatmeal, soaked

1/2 Avocado

4 teaspoons of Yoghurt (or kefir if you have, which is actually best)

Blend the above ingredients until smooth in a blender. Refrigerate for about an hour until pleasantly cold and continue to refrigerate for the life of the mask. Use daily for ultimate brightness, and the mask should last about ten to 14 days.
